Apple Watch Heart Rate Monitor Problems Surface After OS 1.0.1 Update

Apple has presented the first Watch OS 1.0.1 this week and users who have already updated this firmware report Apple Watch not measuring heart rate issues. The wearable used to do this every ten minutes but this has stopped once 1.0.1 was installed on the device.

It is worth to note that the release didn’t go that smooth though the update solves previous bugs and offers more improvements and enhancements to the system performance. Apple Watch heart rate monitor problems are troubling those who enjoyed when their heart rate was measured every 10 minutes.

There is a big number of Watch owners who report the same Apple Watch problems after 1.0.1 update. It might not be a big deal to a lot of us, but some users really need the feature to work properly and hope that the Cupertino-based company would offer a fix soon.

Monitoring heart rate on the demand is good thing and it still works. But nothing happens in the backgroup if you are running the latest OS developed specifically for the smartwatch. Everything worked perfectly well before so the issue has to be related to the upgrade.

Besides, Apple said nothing about this bug. It reported that with the update the heart rate measurement time hadn’t changed. Now, with the 1.0.1 running you can launch Health program on the iOS smartphone and select Health Data – All – where your old Heart Rate measurements were stored but appear no longer.

It could happen so that Apple decided that the feature should work only during Workouts and turned it off for the rest of the day. There are no official comments yet but your battery life might last longer without the heart rate being measured in the background six times an hour.

Do you experience any other problems with the new OS?
