iOS 8.2 Signing Status: Is It Still Possible to Downgrade iOS 8.3 or Not?

Is it possible to downgrade iOS 8.3 to iOS 8.2? You know that the 8.3 version is the most recent one presented by Apple even though the company is working on iOS 8.4 having seeded beta 1 and 2 to developers already. If you are not satisfied with iOS 8.3 and want to get back to the previous iOS 8.2 version you have to know this important information.

Apple has updated iOS 8.2 signing status. The company stopped signing this version. If you didn’t downgrade within the month while the fruit giant was still supporting it, you are now out of luck. It is no longer possible to downgrade to 8.2 because Apple doesn’t sign it any more.

This problem isn’t a problem right now because both versions 8.2 and 8.3 cannot be jailbroken. Hackers haven’t found new exploits and those that were used in iOS 8.1.2, 8.1.1, 8.1 and 8 jailbreak were patched by Apple in its 8.1.3 update. Most users who choose to downgrade just wish to return to the previous mobile operating system in order to jailbreak it.

How can you be sure that the iPhone maker doesn’t sign iOS 8.2? There is one useful site ipsw.me where you can see the information about current signing statuses for iOS versions. It confirms that iOS 8.2 is no longer signed by the Cupertino-based company.

The jailbreaking community hopes to see the new exploits and solutions for current and future iOS versions. Hacker i0n1c managed to jailbreak iOS 8.4 beta which means that there are vulnerabilities that haven’t been killed by Apple yet.

If you are jailbroken and running older firmware you should be careful with what you install because any faulty tweak can make you restore and lose the jailbreak.
