Jailbreak or Apple Watch Support: iOS 8.3 Update Thoughts

How can Apple make users be forced to update to iOS 8.3? The Cupertino-based giant has come with a perfect solution: Apple Watch release that supports special iOS 8.2 version is compatible with iOS 8.3 iPhone. While there is no jailbreak for Apple Watch or iOS 8.3, users should install the new firmware if they want to pair with their wearable.

No one knows when iOS 8.3 jailbreak release date is. Of course, users hope it will happen eventually. Hackers also give hints that this can be possible, and i0n1c [his real name is Stefan Essar] has already managed to jailbreak iOS 8.4 beta iPhone 6 Plus however he doesn’t plan on releasing the tool for public.

The community thinks that if iOS 8.4 testing version can be jailbroken, the current iOS 8.3 might also contain the exploits that can make jailbreak happen. As for Apple Watch jailbreak, hackers are also silent. The new wearable was officially released in April but we heard no hacker jailbreaking the Watch yet.

Customers who are purchasing the smartwatch can forget about staying jailbroken if they were running iOS 8.1.2 or earlier firmware version on the iPhone unless they have a second ‘fruit’ smartphone that is updated to iOS 8.3.

It sounds kinda expensive to carry two Apple handsets just to stay jailbroken and update to the latest firmware at the same time, so most customers are most likely to forget about their jailbreak and install 8.3 version to pair their gadget with the Watch.

What about you? Are you still running early 8 firmware or have you already upgraded to the latest version available?
