How to Access Amojis on Mac Yosemite [Instruction]

Apple introduced a big variety of emojis in iOS 8.3 firmware version and if you have OS X Yosemite you can learn how to use emojis on Mac. These smileys have become very popular among users. They help expressing emotions and feelings in text messages and emails. They look fun and cute and it’s hard to imagine modern posts without them.

There are two methods on how to access emojis on Mac. They work on the latest Yosemite operating system 10.10.3. If you learn how to quickly get them while typing your messages will look more expressive.

How to Access Emoji Keyboard on Mac OS X Yosemite

Method 1. Emojis can be used right from your menu:

1) Launch System Preferences by selecting Apple logo in the Mac menu bar.

2) Select Keyboard and choose Show Keyboard and Character Viewers in menu bar.

3) Select the new icon from your menu and choose Show Character Viewer option.

4) All the characters should be displayed in your sidebar. There are a lot of categories from which you can select Emoji.

5) It is easy to insert emojis into your text. You need to double-click on the emotion and it will appear in the text field.

Method 2. You can use access emoji mac tool through keyboard shortcut:

1) Launch the text editing program (you can also just place a cursor in the text field).

2) Use the combination of Command ⌘ / Ctrl / Spacebar.

3) You will see a pop-up window with emojis to select from.

4) Click on the emoji you want to use and it will appear in the text at the place of the cursor.

5) Use the same combination of keys as in Step 2 in order to insert another emoji.

You see that it’s simple to access emojis on OS X Yosemite platform.
