How To Stop iOS 9.3.1 iPhone From Clearing Old Calendar Events

If you were in situation when you had looked at the calendar app on your iDevice and realized that multiple events were missing, the only thing you wanted to do at that time was to stop iOS 9.3.1 iPhone from deleting old calendar events. So if you want prevent your past appointments from disappearing, and restore past events at the same time follow steps below.

How To Prevent iOS 9 iPhone From Clearing Old Calendar Events

By default, the iOS Calendars app only synchronizes and retains the last months’ worth of events on your device, regardless of how much data is stored in whatever cloud or desktop calendar application you’re synchronizing with. Instead of leaving old calendar events on the device, it just removes them past a certain time frame. However, this doesn’t mean your calendar events are gone. They are all still there. If you use iCloud for example, they are all safe and sound on Apple’s servers.

So if you want to restore your old calendar events, but also keep this issue from happening in the future, follow these steps:

1) If you have synced your iOS 9.3 iPhone with iCloud or another calendar service, the iPhone may automatically delete old events. To prevent this from happening, first launch "Settings" on your iOS 9 iPhone, next select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" option.

2) Then scroll down to the Calendars section, and you should see a “Sync” tab. Click on it.

3) Select the time period for which you want to keep old appointments. These range from two weeks to six months.

The work is done - you have actually stopped your iOS 9.3.1 iPhone from deleting old calendar events. Also depending on the time frame that was chosen, your past missing events will dispalyed again in the Calendar app on iOS 9 iPhone. To keep all past appointments on the iDevice indefinitely, select "All Events."
