We offer useful guide on how to sort songs in the Music app in iOS 10. As you may know with iOS 10 release the Music app has received a many enhacements to improve users experience. Although the app is now more aesthetically pleasing compared to how it looked in iOS 9, many users are really confused when trying to find essential features such as the Shuffle and Repeat buttons.
Another example is the Sort Songs & Albums functionality that is nowhere to be found in the iOS 10 Music app. don't worry this feature is still available, but it is not located in the Music app. So to find out how to sort songs in the Music app in iOS 10 follow the easy steps below:
How To Sort Songs And Albums In The Music App In iOS 10
Step 1: Launch the Settings app on your iOS 10 device.
Step 2: Then scroll down a bit and you should see Music. Click on it to launch.
Step 3: Under Library, you will find the Sort Songs & Albums option. Click on it to open the sort settings.
Step 4: Then the option on how you want to sort the songs and albums in the Music app. It is possible to sort either by artist or title name.
Step 5: Lastly head back to the Music app and you should see all the songs & albums sorted based on the criteria you chose.
It is unclear why Apple set this functionality into Settings app. So now every time you want to change the sort criteria instead of doing it straight in Music app you'l have to head to Settings app. Another unacceptable thing is that the song and album sorting is not separate. The sorting criteria that you choose will be applied to both songs and albums, so there’s no option to sort them separately.
