Stay Away From iOS 10 WhatsApp Video Call Fake Message

According to many iPhone owners they have received iOS 10 WhatsApp video call fake message inviting them to enable new video calling feature. As it always happens whenever a popular app presents a major feature, there are bound to be scammers waiting to swoop in and do their thing. This occurred with the recently rolled video calling feature that WhatsApp has presented to its uses with iOS and Android and Windows devices. Multiple users has received an invitation message to enable WhatsApp video calling. This message induces that the only way to enable the video calling feature is to go to the linked website and enable new feature from there. This of course is a scam.

Following that link users saw the screen to Activate Whatsapp Vidoecalling . Hitting that option scam shows the progress bar where the “update” is “installed”. Later, the user is asked to invite 4 friends, and that’s the only way to enable the feature.

Tapping on that button opens WhatsApp, asking the user to spread the spam further. So if you have received iOS 10 WhatsApp video call fake message on your device don't follow the link offered.

Just few daus back, WhatsApp finally released a new app update that enabled video calling for everyone who had the latest version (2.16.17) installed along with GIF support.

Once you update the app from the App Store, you’ll be able to make video calls. And that is how to enable video calling feature in WhatsApp. Currently, only the iOS device users running the latest version of WhatsApp will be able to accept the video calls.

WhatsApp stated that this is going to be a staged rollout. So if you don’t see this feature right now, or if it just doesn’t work for you, all you can do is to wait. A scam like the one shown on the top post isn’t going to help you. So keep that in mind.
